Fedora is a community-supported Linux distribution that is the basis for Red Hat's commercial Red Hat Enterprise Linux product. Fedora's default installation includes the graphical GNOME desktop and Déjà Dup backup utility. Déjà Dup is a graphical application designed for backing up a user's personal files, but can also be used to back up the entire hard drive. Creating a backup image of the entire Fedora system requires running Déjà Dup as the root user
Instructions
- Click "Applications," "System Tools" and "Terminal."
- Type "su -" into the terminal and press "Enter."
- Type your root password at the password prompt and press "Enter."
- Type "deja-dup" into the terminal and press "Enter."
- Click the "Backup" button in the Déjà Dup window.
- Click the "Backup Location" box, select a location to create the backup image on by clicking it and click "Forward."
- Click "Add" to the right of the "Include Files and Folders" box, click "File System" in the file browser window and click "Open."
- Click "Forward" and "Backup."
